Special Seniors Recieve 2006 JJ Vance Scholarships
Congratulations to JJ Vance Memorial Scholarship recipients Morven Ross and Joshua Wingate.
Morven Ross

Varsity Soccer

The scholarship committee would like to recognize Morven's remarkable achievements at East Chapel Hill High School (ECHHS). Athletically and academically, she has exhibited leadership, drive, and work ethic. Morven has an excellent academic record. One which she maintained while also participating in the North Carolina Olympic Development Team, a highly successful club team, and the varsity girls' team at East Chapel Hill High School. She earned the "We before Me Award," was selected as a member of the All Conference team, the All Regional Team, and received the Regional Player of the Year award. Impressively Morven was chosen along with 34 other young women, selected from across the country for the Scholar All American Team. Morven will attend James Madison University in the Fall.

The scholarship committee also acknowledges Joseph's accomplishments at East Chapel Hill High School. Joshua's impressive athleticism, is mirrored in the dedication he puts forth towards learning and education. Joshua will attend the University of North Carolina this fall where he will undoubtedly enjoy similar success and achievement as he did at East Chapel Hill High School.
JJ Vance Memorial Scholarships are awarded to deserving graduating seniors at East Chapel Hill High School. The scholarship was established by the family and friends of JJ Vance, who was a student-athlete at East Chapel Hill High School at the time of his death in 1998.
